Premium Sign Solutions built and installed two restaurant signs for Maple Block Meat Co. in Culver City.
The first used the framework of Villa Italian’s historic building sign. To refurbish the defunct business sign, we removed the old neon, sanded the exterior and applied multiple coats of paint to bring the sign back to life. To retain its classic look, we created neon reading “Maple Block Restaurant” and installed it on both sides of the facade.
The second custom store front sign was inspired by the restaurant’s name. Using an actual maple block carving board, Premium Sign Solutions sanded more than half an inch off the wood’s surface to clean its top from years of use. Next we routed the name “Maple Block” out of the wood. To give the commercial sign a rustic look, we torched the inside of each letter, singeing the wood. Finally we coated the wood with a weather protectant.
Maple Block Meat Co. is located right off the 405 freeway in Culver City. They have already built a reputation for having one of the best menus in Culver City, offering everything from salads to ribs and burgers. They are a true-blue barbecue spot with an in-house butcher.
