Signs for Community

Our project for Tarzana Neighborhood Council shows the importance of signage. Not just for brands and businesses but for communities too. They serve as landmarks, help put places on the map. Moreover, they foster a sense of togetherness. Communities can feel that they are together with these signs symbolizing them.

In these times it’s only natural to have a renewed appreciation for community and togetherness. That is why signs matter. The sight of them, spelling out communities’ names, bright and visible, can make for a really reassuring scene. For those who haven’t been out in a while, seeing a familiar landmark sign might almost be like bumping into an old friend.

So, in short, people will even miss the sight of signs. And they can be reassuring and help embody communities. Think of how awesome it would be to see “welcome back” signage greeting you upon your return when shelter-in-place is lifted.
